The story unfolds around a pair of twin brothers against the backdrop of the Hong Kong’s and Macau’s handover. Their unusual experiences are intertwined with science fiction plots. Quanan uses reverse perspective to explore the illusory nature of reality and fatalism. Weaving together classical Chinese literature and poetry in his writing, the author further expresses his defiance against modernity.
