香港文學經典復刻！《另起爐灶》結集了游靜於八九十年代發表的小說、隨筆、評論，內容涵蓋電影文化、性別議題、身份流離等各範疇之批判與反思。書中篇章大多均在游靜赴紐約留學時完成，不但大量描寫了美國的人文風景，亦富有對香港／亞洲文化身份的見解。本書充分表現了游靜對不同文化現象的獨特詮釋，文風語調更是別樹一幟。新加入作者為再版提筆的〈滴水不漏（後後記）〉，講述當下心境變化。

The reprint of Building a New Stove consists of Yau Ching’s novels, essays and critics published in the 1980s and 1990s, covering cinema culture, gender, identity and other issues. Most of the articles were written during her stay in New York which explains the extensive depiction of American society and reflection on Hong Kong/Asian identity. Yau demonstrates her unique interpretation of cultural phenomena with an equally distinctive writing style. This latest edition also includes a new epilogue written by the author specifically for the reprint, documenting the changing state of mind.
