Health & Personal Development
Just One, Well Done
Introduction
Marta, Simone and Angela are different ages, they come from different families, they lead lives that are not similar. Yet, they have something in common, something that unfortunately they share with many other peers: they commit acts of self-harm, they inflict pain and marks on their bodies to find relief from an internal suffering that they are unable to communicate and for which they are unable to ask for help.
The volume addresses self-harm through the voices of young people who voluntarily inflict cuts and injuries on themselves as an expression of a deep, unmanageable discomfort, to express that which they cannot find a better way to do; it frames the phenomenon from a scientific point of view but with simple and understandable language, it helps us to understand what can trigger it, how to recognize it and intervene promptly.
Reading between the lines
Reading between the lines is an editorial series dedicated to the mental health of boys, girls and adolescents. It is the result of the collaboration between Erickson Editions and the Holden School, and it is aimed at anyone interested, for personal reasons (parents, adolescents), as well as for professional reasons (psychologists, educators, teachers), in closely knowing the forms and symptoms of some of the most recurrent and frequent psychological disorders in younger generations.
