Crocodile Tears
Introduction
‘Crocodile Tears’ is a playful and engaging picture book about honesty, friendship, and discovering what you truly need. Crocodile is hungry, but he’s no longer as fast or strong as he used to be. To catch his prey, he comes up with a clever plan: he pretends to cry. Surely the other animals will come to comfort him, and then he can catch them. One by one, Crocodile tries to trick Zebra, Hippo, and Springbok with his fake tears, but they see through his act and escape. Left alone, Crocodile finally sheds real tears of sadness. That’s when Turtle appears and shows him that there are other ways to satisfy his hunger, and that friendship can be just as fulfilling as food.
With its gentle humor, clear emotional arc, and warm, colorful illustrations, ‘Crocodile Tears’ offers an accessible way to talk to children about honesty, trust, and empathy. A charming story with a positive message for children ages 4 and up, perfect for read-aloud moments and international markets alike.
