A RABBIT IN LOVE
Introduction
When we love someone, when we fall deeply into something, we begin to imagine what we might become. When the person we like appears, we grow tense without even realizing it, and all our attention turns toward them. Little by little, the time spent thinking about them outweighs the time spent looking inward. Through that person, we discover things we had never considered before, and as we begin to give meaning even to the smallest details, our world fills entirely with them—bringing a growing sense of happiness. Yet the more our feelings grow, the smaller and more inadequate we may feel, and in trying to make up for what we think we lack, we sometimes lose our true selves through needless effort.
A RABBIT IN LOVE is a story about the pure heart of having fallen in love—once, or perhaps having been hurt by love, or having been completely immersed in it. The feelings of “some rabbit,” who believes that even after traveling the entire universe there could be no rabbit more wonderful than the one standing before their eyes, reflect the heart of someone who tried hard to hold love and to become like the one they loved. After the confession comes a quiet moment, and within a life that is changed yet unchanged, some rabbit finds the strength to live once again.
