His son, si Rapongan, is following in his father’s footsteps, exploring mountains and forests, rowing wooden boats, experiencing the breath of the rainforest, feeling ocean waves with his very being, and documenting his ocean voyages. His eldest daughter, si Matnaw, enjoys drawing and adding color to her father’s books. His youngest daughter,si Nomok, loves to write poetry and turns her daily inspirations into words that become part of the parent-child journey. His wife grows sweet potatoes and taro to provide nutrition for the whole family. His writing has opened up a broad vision, embraced the vastness of the ocean, and brought to Taiwan literature the eyes of the ocean.
