This is a moving tale of two polar bears who appear different but share a deep longing for identity and connection. One is a black tire sculpture called “White Bear” that comes to life in a museum and seeks a real polar bear to understand its name and self. Across the street, Ur, a white polar bear raised in a zoo, has never known the Arctic and feels inauthentic because of it. When they meet, the two form an unexpected friendship, sharing conversations, races, and imagined songs of the Arctic. Through their bond, the story gently explores themes of identity, captivity, climate change, and the loss of natural habitats, inviting readers to reflect on what it truly means to be real.
